When you’re working in IT department, especially under Technical Support divisions, sure some stuff like formatting and virus cleaning will on your daily list, especially when it comes to reformatting computers. Reformatting can take up to 2 hours and such, like reformatting the hard disk, re-partitions, re-installing the drivers and all the necessary softwares.
But…what if the customers or some computers that, the driver CD/DVD was gone? What if you lost your network card drivers, and you can’t surf the net to download the drivers? What if you forgot what is the chipset drivers and such? And with you only, Windows Setup CD, and thats it.
So, to prevent those to happening, why don’t we ready ourself? These things also can saves up time for you too, rather than you must reinstalls drivers, restarts, reinstall, then restarts which sometime is wasting time and tiring :x
On this time, I’ll show how you make an unattended Windows XP setup CD/DVD, that will includes almost all basic drivers such as chipset, SATA drivers, display, sounds and network. There’s other way that you can also includes your favourite software included together with the Windows XP Setup CD/DVD, but that will take some time, I’ll cover it on next time x3.

Before we starts, makesure you’ve meet these requirements:-
Once you’ve all stuff ready, now you can proceed to the steps below:-

Make sure you insert it to your computer drive, and locate the Windows XP setup CD, and browse the contains.

Then, copy every contents in the CD.

- Then, create a new folder in your hard disk, name it…Original XP, or any name you want it to name, then copy everything to it.

Locate the DPs_Base_7075.exe [or the current version that you’ve downloaded]Double click on it and click on “Extract” button to start extracts, and it will extracts the contents to the local folder.Then, locate your downloaded DriverPack Packs, and copy it to the folder called “DriverPacks”

Now, run DPs_BASE.exe

- When it launches, click on “Browse” button.
- It will pops up a new window, select DPs_BASE.ini, and then click on “Open” button.
- Then just click the “Arrow” “>” button until you reaches here.

- Select “disc”
- Then, click on “Browse”, and locate on where you previously copied whole contents of Windows XP files, for this case, mine is “Original XP”
- Click on OK

- You should see “OS: Windows XP Professional - Retail SP2″ on the Location status page.
- Note:- Your Windows XP version may vary.
- Then click on the “>” button to continue.

- Then, click on “Select All” button, and make sure the “DriverPack Mass Storage text mode” is ticked.
- Then click on “Slipstream!” button to begin slipstreaming process.
- Just wait until it finishes.

- This status screen should shows up.

Ok, slipstream process completed.

But, you still need to create an ISO image for the slipstream version of Windows XP.

Now locate “CDIMAGE_GUI.exe”.

Double-click on it and Extract.

Now go to CDIMAGE folder, and locate this:-

And run it.

On the Root Dir, click and locate your slipstreamed Windows XP, like mine is Original XP.

Then specify a location to store the ISO file.

Then, go to “Configuration”.

Click on “Boot”.
-
Then locate “boot.img”.
-
And click on “Open” button.

Why? This is important, that to make sure your ISO file is bootable.

Then, click on “Creation”.
-
Click on “Start Image Creation” button to begin the process.

Image creation is in progress.

Once it’s done, no popup message will appears, but you’ll notice theres an ISO image file ready.V> V>Now, you just burn the ISO image file by using Nero or other burning suite.
Have fun! This time, it will saves you a lot time when you’re reformatting someone’s computer, or your own computer =D
